About the firm

Built for a specific kind of client.

We built this for the investor who is building a portfolio in Ontario and needs legal infrastructure that holds up as it grows—not one that has to be rebuilt every time the structure changes.

Our Leadership

Two lawyers. One practice
built around how investors actually operate.

They approached it from different angles and landed in the same place. Investors deserve counsel built for how they actually work—not a general practice with a real estate tab.

Milena Cardinal

CEO | Barrister & Solicitor

Milena Cardinal leads the firm with a single operational obsession: make complex legal work run on a system that holds up regardless of what the deal throws at it.

Her instinct has always been to solve problems by assembling the right pieces. In real estate law, where timelines compress and small misses become expensive delays, that instinct is exactly what’s needed. She doesn’t perform calm under pressure. She engineers it — through workflows and systems designed to hold precisely when the deal gets tight.

Inside the firm, Milena is hands-on with the work clients never see but always feel: refining how files run, eliminating bottlenecks before they surface. Her focus on systems and execution standards is the infrastructure behind every predictable close.

She speaks regularly at industry events and investor associations, and stays close to the market she serves.

"Clients shouldn't have to become legal experts to make smart real estate moves. My job is to build the structure that makes the right next step obvious — and the execution consistent."

Shawn Quigg

Real Estate Investor Lawyer

Known as The REI’s Lawyer, Shawn Quigg has built his practice around one conviction: investors don’t need more legal complexity. They need structure that makes growth safer and execution more predictable.

His work reflects a deliberate niche. On investor platforms and industry channels, Shawn addresses the legal landmines that emerge as portfolios scale — joint venture fallouts, promissory note failures, entity mismatches that don’t surface until a deal is already live. The goal is consistent: practical education for investors who are already building and need their legal foundation to match it.

That investor-first perspective shapes how he runs files. Shawn approaches legal work the way a sophisticated investor approaches a deal: with attention to systems, structure, and what holds up over time. His priorities inside the firm mirror his priorities for clients — repeatable processes, early risk identification, structures built to last.

He is active in the investor ecosystem through education, community involvement, and the professional relationships that keep the practice connected to the market it serves.

"Real estate investing is a business. My job is to help investors treat it like one — with legal structure designed for the realities of partnerships, lending, timelines, and scale."
